Root HTC EVO V 4G Boot Loop

I really have no idea. You shouldn't have to, so I want to see if it works without turning off before we go any further.
 
Okay. I'm not sure what you mean, but I'm going to take a shower, the RUU is running. Thanks :) You're not sleeping soon, right? :D
 
I lied. I'm yet to shower this stupid thing is stressing me out. Okay. So, the RUU finished, and it immediately played the stupid VM music. But the music cut off 1/2 way through and the phone went black. I turned it back on and now it booted. It's now working/functioning. I've yet to flash that thing you told me to, will in a sec. I feel like if I flash a rom it's going to do that stupid thing again. erg! Okay now it's time to shower.
 
Do I need to reflash recovery or anything else besides the 5050 thing? Flashing now. What rom do I get after? I don't care about the 3D thing. Just no weird bugs. I really love battery life :3
 
The bootloader shows ***LOCKED*** at the top. Do I need to re unlock or whatever? I thought I just needed to flash the one thing? Ah confused Q.Q
 
Yes, you do need to reunlock... just do fastboot flash unlocktoken Unlock_code.bin again -- sorry, forgot that step.

Ok, that's a good sign. I was starting to worry that your hardware was broken on the phone.

When you get out of the shower, reboot to the bootloader & make sure it says "fastboot USB"

fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
Go into the recovery, then wipe everything except sd card

Once it's done, reboot into the bootloader - again make sure it says "fastboot USB", then run these commands one at a time:

fastboot erase cache
Code: 
fastboot oem rebootRUU
Code: 
fastboot flash zip shooter_ota_1.14.652.5_1.50.5050jb.zip
When that finishes... (if it fails, just do the last command 1 more time)
Code: 
fastboot reboot-bootloader
Verify everything is correct (new radio, new HBOOT) - if not, repeat from "fastboot erase cache" on.

Once it's correct, reboot to recovery one more time. Wipe everything except SD Card (again), then reboot recovery (from the reboot menu)

From there, flash the ROM you want... and pray to God that it works :D

BUT TELL ME WHAT ROM TO FLASH!!!! I can't decide I'm too frightened. JUST TELL ME WHICH ROM!!! I want battery life ! Which is best battery life? But still awesome?
 
WTF? I'm on that "Unlock bootloader?" Screen... I can't press yes. I've selected it and press the power button. It appears frozen.
 
This might be a silly question, but is your phone's back cover still off? If it is, you can put it back on... for me it's hard to tell if I'm pressing the buttons when the cover is off.

Are you pressing the power button to say yes? Asking because it's unusual to press power to select something.

Annnndd if it's really frozen, just yank out the battery and go back into the bootloader with volume down + power button
 
WTF. Okay, listen to this. That screen which asks YES/NO for unlock right? I chose yes. no response. I do it over and over. But I can still go down to no. So I choose no and it turns off. I turn it back on, and it shows ***UNLOCKED*** at the top of hboot. What. The.

By the way, my HBOOT is @ 1.57.0000, that okay?
 
Uhhh... listen to this, I think that whole damn thing about unlocking it again was unnecessary. I'm sorry, I'm tired and my brain is slow... lol
 
I also want to confirm with this. In recovery, when you say "wipe everything except sd card" you mean format all partitions (except SD CARD) right?

also hboot 1.57 is oka?
 
It's ok for now, but we're going to be fixing that... don't flash the ROM till after you go through with everything above
 
Finished everything. It always fails the 1st time. Dunno if that's significant. Anyways 1.50.5050 and 1.09.00.0108 right? Ready to flash ROM?
 
Nah, it's not significant that it fails the first time... just happens sometimes. Format everything except SD Card 1 more time, then flash the ROM - you got my message & downloaded that ROM?
 
Also, be patient the first time it boots up after the ROM installs... sometimes it takes 5 or so minutes to boot up
