htc g2 t-mobile update

i can only fine orange version.. is that ok to use for my g2 on t-mobile?

if not can anyone point me in the right direction, ang give me any tips on how to do it.

when ever i try to enter my sn# it says the software isnt for my phone.
any help would b great

T-Mobile are releasing the G2 update themseelves and it will be released any day now. Go to www.t-mobile.co.uk then click support then forums and you'll be able to read all about it. The discussion thread on the official forum almost went into meltdown when it was mooted that T-Mobile might not bother with an update. They have now promised one by (or before) Oct 2.
 
after spending the whole afternoon looking on this forum i made a thread... then stumbled across an older thread and found out for myself.

how hard is it for a regular idiot like myself to root my phone?
 
I'm going to give the new T-Mobile ROM a try, when it is released, and see how I get on with it before I start rooting my phone. There are warranty issues if you root but this should not be a problem because you can take a backup when you root. Restoring the backup restores the warranty.

Read through this forum and XDA-Developers also to find out about rooting.
 
Rooting and installing a custom ROM took me no longer then 20 minutes today on my G2, and I'd never done it before. I'm not bothered about the warranty issue, I bought it off eBay.
