HTC Gingerbread update.

Just stock, but its also on youtube and other media that it is really quiet compared to other phones. Not good for showing of a video to a bunch of friends in a pub. We can't hear a thing and the volume is on full.

The music and sound on games is really loud I've noticed though...

Have you tried using the equalizer on the stock player?

I hope the update would actually allow my HTC paperweight to actually work...

Erm why doesn't your HTC a paperweight...

The speaker volume on our phones is pathetic. PowerAmp has an equalizer option that can increase the volume for music playback.

I live in Australia and my Desire HD is an imported and unbranded model.
Will I be able to update to 2.3 straight through HTC? Or does it have to be done through a carrier only?

It will come straight from HTC, my model is the same (unbranded, no carrier) updates in the past have just come through direct

But you bought it overseas... so chances are you'll get the update for the region you got it from.

Can you read Arabic?

so what about carrier free handsets? when do we get any update? The last one was end of last year and it was pulled back because it caused more problems than it fixed!!

The update should be out by april 15th,there is something going on in HTC on 12 april i think, probably some new phone with 2.3 so i supose that HTC will give us the update after that.....

I am waiting mostly the camera recording freezing to be fixed, and in notifications bar we will get quick settings and in the apps menu there will be downloaded apps highlighted i think and system apps.......

Just format your SD Card that will fix it.

After the trouble I have had with the 2.2.1 update I think I will hold fire on the 2.3 and let a few people test it before I jump on the band wagon . Once bitten twice shy and all that .

Just a quick question
My hd is from cpw I think its unbranded but it was obtained on a orange contract but has a o2 sim

Unlike my original desire there are no network specific scenes or apps
my software version is 1.32.405.6

Is that branded ?
If so will i.have to wait for Orange or o2 update
It's also on 2.2 only and not 2.21
Thanks in advance

If there are no network specific apps or a network logo on the back of it, 95% of the time, it will be unbranded. :)

Only got the phone in Jan I think 2.21 was pulled by then

Wife upgraded and preferred her old phone win win really for me

That update is pulled by HTC because it was buggy.....i also have 1.32 software, and didn't want to update the phone to 1.72,and after few days the update wasnt there any more.....and now I don't get this 1.84 update....the update was relesed mostly for asian market.

hmmm... wonder if this could be the cause of all the tragedies striking my mobile... I feel like my fone is Japan with all the problems its having...
