Htc Hero apps

I currently have the 1.5 android firmware installed on my phone, is there an upgrade? will upgrading allow me to use more apps on my phone? I am new to android but a lot of my friends have apps that I cant find i.e. angry birds and several different apps that I would really like to be able to use but Idk how to get them?

ROOT and Upgrade to Froyo.....At the very least.

You're on an old version of Android. The current version for Handsets is 2.3. You definitely need to to upgrade. Once you do you will fel as though you have a whole new phone. I would skip 2.2 (froyo) and go straight to 2.3 (gingerbread). Of course you have to root your handset to do this. If you do not want to root, then there is an official update to 2.1 (eclair) that you can use.

Yes, upgrade to 2.2 at the very least by rooting the phone and installing a custom ROM. Let us know if you need any help - the forums is resourceful and many people here to help
