HTC HERO network notificaations

Hi, first post so appologies if it's been asked before!

Does anyone know how to prevent the Hero giving a notification alert when my phone pics up a signal when it has been out of network coverage? I'm on 3 mobile BTW

I have managed to set tones up for texts etc. but it is really anoying when the notification happens every time you stray in & out network coverage.

I don't have this.. Are three sending you a text everytime you enter/exit the coverage?
 
No mate, I only get a notification sound! No notification icon etc.

I always look at it straight away & nothing is showing!
