htc hero on sprint - cant figure out rooting.

I m trying to root my HTC hero on sprint . i reallly want to only so i can use my phone as a mobile hotspot. is it even possible to use my phone as a hotspot cause if not rooti.g will be a waste of my time . if i can than please tell me how to root post a link to a tutorial in youtube that works . i probly have all my updates so i will need instructions on downgrading if its nessasary

If you are having any problems it is probably because you are updated to 2.1.....6 in order to use unrEVOked you need to run ruu 2.1.....5
