htc hero update

I have the hero on orange and went to the orange website to download the new update, only to find that it says that it is not for my phone(sorry this software is not suitable for your device ) I got the phone thru a third party and not directly thru orange, would that make a difference!!!! I still have the choice to send it back as faulty and get a replacement. Do you think that it would make difference !!!

Try going to the HTC website and downloading from there, I'm with Orange but not on their branded hero.

I got mine from carphone warehouse so its unlocked to any network.

i have tried all that, im non branded as well and from the carphone warehouse. It is the official update from the orange site, it automatically takes you to the htc site. You put in your seriel number and thats the reply that you get. not suitable for your device

This is the rom update I used on my carphone warehouse hero.

ROM Upgrade for HTC Hero_2.73.405.5



And this rom is for orange branded hero.

ROM Upgrade for HTC Hero (Orange)_2.73.61.5


Use the top one.

The toms that you have listed I asunder are both the same. One for branded phones and the other for non branded.

This is the rom update I used on my carphone warehouse hero.
