HTC Hero will not boot

Hello my peers.

Let me start out by saying I know what is wrong with my phone , I just don't know how to fix it.

I used QPST to try and change my service provider , thus being the dumb ass i am i just cloned a non android phones info and uploaded it to my phone.

i have a backup of my original qpst settings, but i am unable to get qpst or cdma tools to pick up my phone.

Thew device will not boot i can only use Hboot / fastbootusb

i have tried to flash my phone using ruu and hboot and it did not work.

what i need is to get my phone into DIAG mode in Hboot / Fastbootusb so QPST or CDMA tools will pick it up and i can restore the original settings and i can have a working phone again

Unfortunately, I am unfamiliar with this type of issue. Maybe you can try flashing the Android 2.1 RUU executable with HTC Sync?

Just go to the Sprint HTC Hero section of the Sprint website or the HTC website. You will find the Android 2.1 RUU executable and HTC Sync there.

Thank you for the advice, But i have tried to flash it several times using sprints ruu both by the software and by putting the rom on the SD card.

sounds like you may own a brick.... And that is hard to do with these things. Cloning and the like is not really condoned or accepted here, so I would suggest you look elsewhere for info on how to repair it, if it is possible. Good luck.

I tend to agree with 330D on this. Messing with that can partially or completely brick your handset.

It might be possible to recover it, but I do not know how. Cloning a handset, as 330D said, is really not a good idea.

I want you to know i do not condone cloning and that was not my intention.

all i wanted to do is put metro settings onto my htc hero

so i still ask for help so if anyone knows anything about this plz help

I see what you were trying to do. I just do not know how to recover from it.
