Help HTC Hub weird problem

Hi Guys.

I recently own a HTC Desire HD, great phone.

After a while HTC Hub won't install widgets anymore, its downloading but somehow not installing, they just dont show up in the personalise widget menu. Because i like the note widget.

Clearing cache/data does not work, my phone is original so not rooted or anything.

Also i am unable to find "Settings->Applications->Manage Applications->HTC Widget Download Manager" . its not there at all?
 
I believe it's the same problem that I have. I contacted HTC Support and got the following response:

"Kindly note that our servers are currently experiencing heavy traffic and may be unavailable temporarily. This is only momentary and normal service will resume shortly."

As this is the 2nd day I've tried, this looks like a standard response. And it doesn't answer my question why I get "Application not found" when tapping Details for a widget displayed in "Get more HTC widgets". Do you also get this result?
 
Yes same for me Application not found what i checked the details of Battery widget.But before it was saying unable to connect to HTC sense sever that gone away and new came up !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
 
Same here "Application not found" , so i guess its a server-side issue.

Actually im glad about that because i thought something was messed up in my phone itself and i didnt feel like put it back to factory settings with a master reset or anything. I guess i have to wait till its fixed then.
 
Im also having the same problem, Hopefully it gets sorted soon.
I changed from the iphone 4 to the htc desire hd thinking it would be better but im having second thoughts now :/
 
Both are good phones, but personally i like Android more because there is more free stuff out there, i feel more free on Android then on Iphone.
 
At least all the iphone stuff works before they release it
Don't get me wrong i hate iphones and have a desire hd too
 
Well i guess if the Market or any other droid market app had some better "Quality-checks" before releasing, it would be a better place but ahh well it's not that bad.
 
I have a HTC desire HD and a HTC Legend. I have this problem with my HTC desire hd but not with legend. I was downloading the battery and notes widget on both the phones at the same time. It worked iwth legend but not with desire hd. I noticed that the legend has HTC Widget Download Manager where as desire hd doesnt. It doesn't appear to be some server issue with HTC. Looks like it has to do with the HTC Widget Download Manager. If its not present in the phone, it cannot download certain widgets.
I've serached the wed to get the official version of HTC widget download manager but in vain.
Can anyone help please?
 
Yeah, the HTC-Hub worked fine before so i wonder what changed this?

HTC Widget Download Manager is not present on my Desire HD as well. very strange.
 
I got this replay from HTC Support i have send my replay back to them as well


"Thank you for contacting HTC regarding your HTC Desire HD I understand that you are currently experiencing difficulties with synchronizing data from the hub. I understand that you have tried to delete the data and cache and this has not worked.

In order to be able to assist you further, please provide the following additional information can I ask you if you have tried to connect Via wi-fi? are you getting any error messages? can you access HTCsense.com? are the settings on the Hub set as push as sync type to check this tap on the hub application then tap menu settings accounts and sync and they will be listed there."
 
Yes tried all that, the error i get is "Unable to connect" or "Application not found" when clicking on details of a widget.

Its only a problem of the widget section of HTC Hub, everything else in there works fine as far as i know.
 
I just finished doing a factory reset and i am also not able to install new widgets from htc hub.
 
It's all tied in to HTCSense I think. If you don't have a working sense account, you can't download. I was able to download at will, but since I factory reset and got the verification issue when setting up my sense account again, I can't download anything.

Is anyone with a working sense account experiencing these problems?
 
I have a working sense account, still not downloading widgets.
Remember it only affects widgets in HTC Hub, everything else in HTC Hub works fine.

I still believe it has something to do with "HTC Widget Download Manager" being gone from my phone!
 
Well, I have a working HTC Sense with data sync active for HTC Sense and HTC Hub. And I can enter the web site without any visual problems. But I still cannot download any new widgets. But I can reinstall a previously installed widget (Coin Flip) for some reason, but after I realised that it needs all the permissions in the world I decided to uninstall. But that's a different story ...
So my conclusion is that it's not related to HTC Sense. I've looked at the system trace but can't see anything drastically wrong there, but OK I'm not a developer so maybe I've missed something. :-(
 
It works again, not flawlessly but i was able to install the notes widget.

After i resetted my HTC Sense password and recreated the whole HTC Sense account in my phone and then rebooting the phone its working again?

tbh i don't know, but i believe so, not 100% sure.

Hmm, note widget was installed but probably because i installed it earlier. other widgets are still unable to install.
 
Just to let you know that I had further feedback from Support:

The entire functionality of the website for the time being is not available as is under construction.
This is only momentary and normal service will resume shortly.

 
Just an update on the widgets I wanted to download. I have been able to download the battery and notes widget successfully on my Desire HD. Didnt get any errors and both the widgets are working fine. Not sure how this happened as I didnt attempt to change any setting or do anything different to my previous attempts of downloading these widgets.
