I just got an extended battery in today for my HTC Incredible 2 and put it in my phone to charge according to the directions for both the phone and the battery. When I plugged in the charger I waited for the amber charging light to turn on before I walked away; I came back about an hour later and noticed that the light was now alternating between amber and green - what gives?
I noticed on a similar thread here that someone else asked virtually the same question, and the answer was that it is because the phone was overheated. I don't think that this could be the case here because the phone isn't even warm to the touch. I'm hoping that this new battery is charging and that my phone isn't screwed. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Tim

When mine is charging the indicator light stays solid orange, if I get a text, email, missed call, ect., ect., the light does not blink, the charging light staying on disables this.
Check and see if there is a small piece of plastic between the connector pins of the phone and the battery. They sometimes put this over the contacts of the phone where the battery makes contact with the phone, that is how my hTC wildfire came, I put the battery in over the plastic piece and didn't take it off and it acted stupid, aggravating meon my first Android phone.

Thanks for your response, I contacted the company that I ordered the battery from and it turns out they sent me the battery for the regular old Incredible and not the Incredible 2. So, I will be sending it back and will try to get the right extended battery next time.

Thanks Again,
Tim

I am glad you found the solution to your problem, now you can enjoy some dinc2 goodness!!!
Well, after you get the battery that is.

What brand is this extended battery? Does it work with the stock back piece?
I get pretty decent battery life now, but if I can find an extended battery at a decent price which doesn't alter the phone's dimensions, I'd go for it.
