HTC Incredible - Screen dim

I'm having a problem with my new HTC incredible. The screen stays on forever, which drains the battery quickly. I've tried selecting a short timeout period under "Screen Timeout," but then it locks my screen every time. Since I'm on a corporate server that requires a password every time the screen locks, it's super annoying to have to input a password every time I look at my phone.

Is there a way to have the screen dim when not in use without it putting up the lock screen?

Find your settings link, then go to sounds and display. Scroll way down towards the bottom and there is a place to set the screen time.
