Okay guys, this is my very first thread and actually very first day as a member. I have just switched back to AT&T and purchased a used android phone, the HTC Inspire 4g. I was an iPhone user, and this is my first android phone, and I'm already loving it. Previously when i switched back, I still had my old phone, which was the Motorola Tundra. The Tundra supports 3g and has 3G speeds, but of course is not a smart phone. I purchased the Inspire from a friend, and simply did a sim card swap. The phone allowed me to call and text, receive pictures, but i could not use the internet. My settings said I had the incorrect APN settings. So I went to change them, I got 4g speeds and everything went great, for about a day. The next morning I get a text from AT&T saying they have detected I'm using a smart phone, and that they would automatically add a data plan to my account. So I immediately swapped my sim card back to the tundra. When i had the Tundra, i was grandfathered in to unlimited data for $15 a month, as long as i didnt use a smart phone. Does anyone know if there is a way to adjust the APN settings to allow me only 3g speeds, or any to allow me to use the web and other apps, without getting socked with a data plan? PLEASE HELP??!!!!
