Help HTC Inspire bootloop

Okay- I am new to this so please excuse my stupid! LOL I have an HTC Inspire 4G. Here is my problem... I recently Changed the APN settings so I could use with another carrier. (Is this "rooting"?) It worked ok for about a day or 2. Then the phone started to lag. It would not save a contact (just kept thinking in the background) Also many of my apps started to "force close" over and over so I restarted the phone. When I did, it never fully came back on. It is stuck looping through the start-up screens. I have tried to go through the 'recovery' as well as a 'factory reset'. When its done, same thing, looping through the start-up screens. Please Help!!

Hi AmandaLyn... :)

Welcome aboard. I've moved your thread to its correct forum for some support from other users of this device.

This should actually be a pretty easy fix but I need some more infomation from you. (see below)

1) which carrier are you trying to use the phone with/and which carrier was it originally on?
2) Are you rooted, s-off , etc? (im assuming not.)
3) pull out the battery for a few seconds, put it back in and hold down volume down + power button to get into HBoot. What does the screen say?

Dont fret, once you respond ill have more to go on to help you.

forgot to answer your question: No, changing APN settings is not the same at rooting. These settings affect which mobile network access point you connect to for data and mms whereas rooting gives you the equivalent of administrator priveleges on the phone to make changes to software, etc.
