Okay, i know that the Gingerbread update helped the phone to be more battery efficient and it works very well now. But i'm going on a 3 day camping trip soon which is required for one of my college courses. I was wondering what settings do i have to tinker or mess around with to make my phone conserve it's battery as much as it can. I already know that you must turn down the screen light all the way down since that consumes the most energy. I've tried Juice Defender but uninstalled it because it just didn't make any sense when i was using it.
I have read some articles that if you turn off wifi it will help conserve the battery. But since i'm out in the wild, would it even matter if wifi is turned on or off? I'm very sure i'm not going to get any wifi out in the wild. I have also read that if i turn off the Mobile Network it will also conserve the battery life. But another question about that, if i turn off Mobile Network will i be able to Make/Receive phone calls? If i turn off the mobile network is it only suppose to disable the internet (Meaning: no Facebook, AIM, weather widget, etc...).
What are some stuff i should turn off or adjust to make my phone save as much energy as possible. I know some of you are thinking "turn off your phone when you don't need it". Yes i know i'll be turning it off during the 6 hour drive and while i'm sleeping at night.
Thanks in advance to all those who reply!!!
PS. I plan on getting one of those things that act as an extra battery that i can connect to the phone to charge. But i don't plan on using it unless it's a real emergency. I mainly want to save as much energy on my phone itself.
