Help HTC Inspire: Device Finder

GuMbO2008

Newbie
Does anyone know how to set up the HTC Sense stuff. Like the "Device Finder". Because i tried doing it but its not showing where my phone is at when i log on to HTC Sense on my computer. Everything else worked, Like the ringer and locking the phone but i can't seem to figure out how to get the device finder to work.

Thanks. Everyone.

sometimes it works and sometimes it doesnt. for me currently it is a 50/50 chance that when i go to htcsense.com that it will work.

there are phone finder apps in the market you can try. i havent really tried any personally but if you just type phone finder or phone locator in the search box a bunch should come up.

Okay I have been going on htcsense.com almost everyday to check if the device finder actually works.

But everytime i sign on i always get this message:

"Device Finder is disabled on your device. To enable it, please go to your device and navigate to Settings >> Location >> device finder."

Is this happening to everyone? Is there a solution to this problem, like actually enabling the device finder?

Is it turned on in the settings in your phone? It has to have the box next to it checked for htcsense.com to even have a chance at working.

From the home screen : menu - settings - location - check phone finder

I just tried it for the first time and just zoomed in on the map where my phone was showing up and it was as accurate as I would expect it to be which was very accurate.

What setting did you have to put? So you have to click to enable the GPS too? Because everytime i sign on to htcsense.com everything else works fine. But i don't get like a map or anything telling me where my phone is at. i just get a square blank box instead telling me to enable the phone finder which is already enabled on my phone.

I actually didn't have to enable any settings that I remember just have GPS location on. When I log on this is what I'm shown. I actually just refreshed my location since I'm about 260 miles away from where I was and it took me having the phone outside for it to update and it appears now that it's a mile or two off. Maybe I could refresh and make it exact but this is the map I'm shown.

I am having the same problem and have also tried AndroidLost app, and it too cannot seem to get info from the phone.

I have GPS on, phonefinder on, but cannot get either of them to work.

The link on htcsense.com was taken off a few months ago. Apparently HTC is still working on the site. But trust me you don't want to use the htcsense device finder. It is never accurate, and it takes forever to find your phone. One suggestion i highly recommend is using an app that i found on the andoid market. Its called SeekDroid. Best and most reliable app that i have ever purchased. Seriously from a past experience when my car was stolen and it had my phone in it, i didn't have LoJack on my car but i had SeekDroid. And just to make a long story short, the app helped the local police find my car, my phone, and the location of the strip shop where my car was taken to. If it wasn't for SeekDroid i would be out of a car and phone and there would still be car thieves on the loose.
