HTC Legend ring tones length

Lurker
Hello, I have HTC Legend and I want to reduce the length of my favorite ringtone, which is MP3 file. I cut the length of the melody with "Ringdroid" and the file becomes shorter, but when I set it as default ringtone it doesn't ring once, but repeats constantly until I pick up the phone. How can I make the phone ring only once?

Add a lot of silence at the end of the ringtone file? (not really a solution, just a workaround, I guess)
