HTC Locations - GPS Navigation

I am assuming the Verizon opted to remove the HTC Locations application so that we can buy their overpriced VZNavigator?

Maybe the rooting community will bring it to us :D or maybe I just can't find it on my phone :confused:
 
I just liked the idea of the maps already being cached to the phone, or maybe I am misunderstanding the Locations app. I am in a 3G area so the cached maps would be great!
 
In my opinion your lucky, that your not bothered by HTCs locations app. There is much better to it on the market. Google maps (online) and CoPilot (offline), and many other navigation apps know many "insignificant" places as my own home is, not so HTCs navigation. And there is much more to it.
HTC forces start up of locations and its mapping software when docked into car, leaving no other option than to "cancel" each time the upcoming dialog.
You may have other preferences, but anyone should be free in his/her choice.
 
I like the idea of not needing data to receive GPS navigation. Anyone have a working apk for locations ?!!
