Help HTC Mail app storage.....

Hey I have a question, I really like the htc mail app especially quickly viewing what a certain contact has sent you, my question is will it slow down my phone if set it to store all my emails on it (like all 10,000 from gmail)?
 
From what I have seen from one of my client's Motorola Droid, probably.

He receives 3-5 emails every few minutes on his Microsoft Exchange account. He synced one or two months of mail (meaning he had THOUSANDS UPON THOUSANDS of emails). He also had over 150 organizational folders. That phone was slooooooooooooooooooooow.

I know that the Incredible is much faster (I moved from a Droid to an Incredible), but I don't think it's fast enough to do that. Any other opinions?
