The JBL Flip is a single cylinder about 6" long and maybe 3" diameter, they had it laying sideways. Simple button on one end, push it, turn on bluetooth on your phone, click JBL Flip that pops up - bingo, it's paired and playing.

I've never used bluetooth or 4g or any of the new awesome technology that I willbe taking advantage of once I get The One. This could be useful for my classroom after my kids leave and I am stuck at work grading papers!
 
reading up on the jbl flip, it seems to be stereo so you only need one.

the set i have (disco twin) comes as a pair. the pair I have is portable but you may not want to take these everywhere. the jbl gadget looks to slip easily in your girls purse.. :D

the disco twin is amazing though around the house. i put one in the bathroom when im taking a shower and the other one is in the living room.. they have great range.

i may end up picking this jbl gadget... good heads up EM!

You'll dig it.

It was in the middle of a display of like products, and as soon as she turned it on, I pointed and said, ok that's the subwoofer are these other four things the satellites? I was way surprised. Expected "little speaker" compression as she cranked it up - none of that until it was _really_ cranking.

This bad banana is definitely portable.

You can stream wirelessly,the docking is optional/convenience of de-cluttering your nightstand/table,etc. of one less plug-in device(charger).

You can choose to play via B/T through the dock or use the phones speaker(s) while docked.

No,it is not able to playback through the speaker dock,while docked,if BLUETOOTH is turned off on the phone.

However,if you desire,you'll still be able to have a B/T earpiece & the dock connected simultaneously to the phone,operating independently ,w/the earpiece for phone audio & the dock for media audio.

One final note on the B/T speakers:

For pure performance, I'd recommend the JBL Speakers that EM listed. The PHILIPS speakers that I listed are OK, but, probably no match for the JBL's & definitely not as portable-friendly.

I would PREFER no case on my phone, but too durn clumsy to risk it! :D Some folks complained about Palm Pre's "oreo-ing".... Mine was DOUBLE-STUFF I dropped it so much! :help:

A lot of people overlooked the fact that the cover does come down over time. If you don't wanna wait you can just put the phone face down overnight.

Nice case but you could easily scratch your phone taking the One in and out of the case.


I'll be picking up an HTC One once it hits the USA so I'll do another more indepth review once I get it. Importing is just way too expensive...
 
I ordered the same day, package still showing as in transit. I'll give it a few more days, til the end of the week or so, before I call/email them.

They (DX-BOX) were quick to respond to my earlier queries regarding a tracking number, so I'm good w/that. Besides, I've still got about 30 days of PAYPAL protection regarding a refund should the package end up being lost, etc......
 
Got my transparent case today from the DX-Box link provided previous. (Just over 2 weeks delivery)

It's a bit thicker than other snap fit type cases i've had before, fits well, nice and clear so doesn't hide any of the phone, sits pretty flush with the screen, so a flat drop would probably risk screen damage (although my phone is fitted with the skins talked about elsewhere as well, so case may protrude further without them on).

I'm happy with the skins on mine, so this will be used as extra protection when needed for work or fishing or something.:D

So, it's a hard plastic case & not TPU?
Guess I'll keep this one when it arrives, but, now I'm off to find a TPU clear case. I prefer it for the feel in-hand vs. hard plastic cases.
 
Yes, plastic, so very smooth, no texture at all.

I think i have all bases covered with mine now.....the official flip case if i want to watch movies at work, skins on for general use and this clear case if i want a bit extra protection while out and about......seems quite easy to get caught up in searching for the perfect case and end up with loads of crap collecting dust.:D
