Help HTC One M8 Audio functionality

I am a Android newbie so bear with me .

I cannot get my headphones volume controls to work with this phone ( b& w c5 ) . I also cannot
Get music to play in my car via the micro usb cable ( BMW x3) .

Any suggestions ?

My iphone 5 works just fine

USB cable? Ppl still use those?? Switch setting on radio to AUX... use the Bluetooth instead of USB wire. Works great

It's likely that your headphones are coded to the iPhone, they're different and there's no standard for that.

Check out "JAYS Headset Control"

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=se.jays.headsetcontrol

Often works, if not, try searching for similar - headset control - in the Play Store.

Depending on your car, it may be the same thing - they have iPhone software built in. Pretty common. Not compatible. No solution I know of, could be wrong.

Also - how about no more potshots by anybody. It's not fun to read.

Thanks! :)

IPhone headphones won't work.. The volume buttons change the song and pause on the m8.. What guy said about iPhone being in the BMW is correct.. But try switching the mode to AUX. That screwed me up one time.. I didn't know to switch the mode and thought something was wrong

I disagree...Bluetooth is transmitted at less than CD quality and at a greatly reduced volume. If one uses the USB out (with suitable software like USB Audio Player Pro) you can send a digital signal out of the phone to an outboard Digital to Analogue Converter (like a Audioquest dragonfly or a combo DAC and headphone amp like a Fiio E07K) and play files at better than CD quality and much higher volume than Bluetooth.
