Yes,your phone can be restored to a stock state so you can receive OTAs. If you're back to a working device,I would very strongly recommend that you become s off,as it will greatly ease in rescuing your phone in situations like you were just in,plus it will make restoring it to stock easier as well.
S off will not affect your ability to run stock and receive factory ota updates.
Our options for getting you back to stock in a nutshell:
1)find an ruu for your build(will need to meet lots of security criteria if you stay s on)
2)restore a backup and stock recovery for your current build
OK,technically there is a third
3) convert the device to a different variant that RUUs exist for,like us develepor or unbranded European.doing this may affect your warranty if you have a carrier branded device currently.
