Help HTC One M8 In call volume issues

I might be able to. It's rooted, and this problem existed both before and after rooting it. I did stumble upon some .zip installable via Custom Recovery, said zip file designed to boost the audio by up to 200%. I might try this first.

Well, as it turns out, that audio boost zip file increases the volume on stuff like notifications, ring tones, etc., and not in-call conversations.

I found this to be true,& a bit aggravating, but, doable solution:

Especially when switching from one ear to the other,I have to hold the phone a slight bit differently from one to the other.

I'm not saying "YOU'RE HOLDING IT WRONG" ;) ,but,it's worth a shot,for troubleshooting purposes,if you haven't done so already.

I agree with you and EM that holding the phone so that the left most side of the speaker is right by your ear canal. This does help--maybe not 100%, but probably at least 50%.

I should be thankful that I have excellent hearing. I can only imagine how much frustration I'd have if my hearing was poor.

I feel like an idiot... I have been having the same problem and couldn't figure it out. Pull the phone away from your face, and adjust the volume while the screen is on. Now it works great for me.

Does anyone else have issues with the in call volume? If it's absolutely quiet around me then it's fine, but if there's any background noise at all (like when I'm driving on the highway) then I can barely hear what the person on the phone is saying. I called Verizon and HTC to see if they had a solution. They were no help and told me to swap the phone. I know 2 other people with the same phone and they have the same issue so swapping it will do nothing. Does anyone know how I can boost the maximum volume. I couldn't find any apps in the play store
I just went through this problem with my phone. A couple of weeks ago I noticed my in call volume, not speakerphone, was really low. So low that in noisy situations, like in a car with other people talking or in a room with the tv on, I could not make out the other end of the call. I looked at all the volume settings, could not find the applicable, went on line, called Verizon support, visited the HTC website and I could not find any info on how to adjust this volume setting. Since no one could help me, my numerous calls to Verizon support ended in me getting a replacement phone since it was determined it had to be a manufacturing defect.
When I got the replacement phone its volume was as low as my phone. I was totally puzzled until I tried the volume control when I was on a call, and voila the slider showed it was on the lowest possible setting but it did respond to the volume increase button on the side of the phone.
SO THE SOLUTION IS TO CHANGE THE IN CALL VOLUME WHILE ON A CALL OTHERWISE YOU CAN ONLY ADJUST THE VOLUME IN THE SETTINGS FOR MUSIC, RINGTONES AND ALERTS.
