Sorry, been busy with my animals. I will pull the sd card and try that.

I think I down loaded the rom you have the link to.
I did not go to tumblr.
It was the normal M8 from sprint I believe. Though my phone is Gold and every thing I can get shows the M8 as silver.
Do not know if that makes a difference.

I really appreciate your help. Let me know where to donate.

So let's first get you sorted out.

Bookmark this thread so you'll always remember to never go to Android XDA - it's a totally bogus site.

The GPE phone is laid out differently from yours and mine - it's ok to try a GPE rom but you need one that matches your phone's partition layout.

Fortunately, one exists.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/spr...rom-sd-beta-1-0-sprint-sdhub-hk-best-t3035873

It has the HK audio libraries that do you no good without the firmware but it does no harm either.

The objective is to get you up and running ok.

First problem we have is that you can't load the zip file over to your phone unless you have an OTG USB cable and a USB stick - or an SD card adapter for your pc.

Those are the easiest ways.

If you have neither, copy the rom to where fastboot is.

If you've never used adb, you're going to need special drivers.

Get and install the adb drivers, these come courtesy of @scotty85 -

http://www.mediafire.com/download/f1m9sx2ixwa3n0y/HTCDriver_4.0.1.002.exe

Plug in phone, get into TWRP, Advanced, adb sideload and swipe to get it started.

In command window where fastboot is, adb is as well, so say -

adb sideload name-of-rom-file.zip

Try to reboot.

If you get past fastboot but bootloop instead, redo the fastboot boot.img procedure, same as before, but this time get the boot.img out of your new rom file.

If it's still all hosed up, the next step will be to run an RUU to redo your layout back to original, and then reinstall TWRP and reinstall the right rom.

It's a journey. :)

Thank you so much, I really mean it. I understand how difficult it can be working with someone who is trying but just is not up to speed.

I will work this out a little later and get back to you with the results.

I am up for the journey!

Thank you, I have the sd card adapter for my computer. Do I just copy the file to the sd and then put it in my phone? what are the steps? I like easy!

To try the GPE rom I pointed out, just put it on and try to install from TWRP.

For the RUU, put it at the base of the sd card, not in a folder, and reboot your phone. Look through the first few posts on XDA for the RUU thread to ensure that there are no other gotchas.

Remember to go to your folder options in Windows Explorer and show file types.

That lets you see full file names.

Otherwise, you can get the problem where you don't realize that you've named a file so it ends in .zip.zip instead of just .zip - the number one problem with these sort of things.

If either method boots and basically works, but it's not quite right, either go into storage settings, or boot down to hboot, and do a factory data reset.

Sorry for multiple posts, it's late and it's been a day.

Sent you a private message, keep me posted here or there on your progress.

I bought a sandisc dual usb and put skydragon on it, put it on my phone booted to recovery and after wiping found it on the otg-usb and installed. Rom started and asked me to agree and then hit next to flash. The screen has not changed and is non responsive since i selected next. should I be worried? How long should it take to flash? What do I do if it is stuck?

Thanks.

Restart your phone, try again.

After two failures, the RUU is next.

Meanwhile, please see the note in the Mini-SDK post about the md5 checksum tool we included.

Use that, compare to value on download site - if they don't match, it's a download error, erase the one you have, download again.

If it's none of that, it's ruu time. :(

If you need to go RUU using the zip method, just to flag up the first character in the 0P6BIMG.zip is a Zero - and needs to be for the file to be recognised correctly.

(For some reason the font on here makes it look like a lowercase letter o.)
