im in LA and just made an order online. i will pick up the one max at a local sprint store at 11am tomorrow morning. best buy folks can only get theirs shipped which means sprint customers can get the phone same day.

Yeah, I got the Max from Sprint and it cost me $250 for the 32 GB version. A friend just ordered his from Verizon and it cost him $300. What gives?

Unfortunately, that's how verizon operates. Always hiking up prices. I also just placed my pre-order for $300. I figured since I really want the device, I might as well bite it and fork over the money now. I think $300 is a little much as well, but nothing we can do about it. With all that said, I am pretty excited to receive the Max. Its exactly what I was looking for, a larger version of the One. I had the One, and traded for a GS4 and have regretted it all this time. From review(s), my biggest issue I had with the One seems to be resolved, which was the extremely slow charging. As soon as I heard the Max has quick-charge enabled, I knew it was for me, haha. The micro SD slot is an awesome bonus!

My friend who is on Verizon has had the same phone for many years because he is still grandfathered in on his old unlimited data plan. Now that he is getting the new phone, he's going to be on the new plan which is no longer unlimited.
I told him he may want to switch to Sprint instead with unlimited even though in his area the LTE is FAR slower with Sprint. He told me Verizon said they would give him 6GB per month at the same rate as he's paying now.

I checked my usage and from only last Friday when I got the phone I had already downloaded 9 GB...in only 3 days.

Part of that was the installation of large games from the store, part was streaming Netflix. He loves Netflix so now he's unsure.

Slow unlimited Netflix versus fast Netflix for 3 days. :)
