Root HTC one s OS issue

Jkatorza

Lurker
I tried to install a ROM for the first time, I followed the instruction and wiped everything then I installed the Rom zip file but now the phone is not working at all, It says there is no OS installed.

Please I need help

Is your phone the S3 or S4 version?

Did you flash a ROM made for your version or the other one?

Did you make a Nandroid backup (back it up in the custom recovery)?

my phone is S3, I flushed the SenseissimO_OneS_1.0.1 which I thought is suitable.. but right now I don't mind flushing any other ROM since my phone has no OS at all.
so if you know any ROM that works on the s3 or any way to download the original one please let me know

As far as I know the only ROMs for the S3 version are:

So I would:
  1. Download one of those onto your computer.
  2. Boot the phone into recovery.
  3. Wipe the phone like you did before (/system, /data, /cache, and the dalvik cache)
  4. Mount the USB storage.
  5. Put the ROM files on the sd card.
  6. Flash the ROM.

Then you should be set.

I believe both of those ROMs are fairly close to stock with some nice tweaks and such. I used TrickDroid for quite a while (it's compatible for both the S3 and S4 version) and was happy with it, but I think the other ROM is pretty good as well.

Luckily flashing an incompatible ROM won't permanently mess up your device, it will just not work until you wipe and flash a compatible ROM.

Hope that gets you sorted. ;)
