HTC One Series Coming to Virgin Mobile USA?

Looks like it's confirmed: HTC One V will be coming to Virgin. Here's the link:

Well dang. But I suppose that confirms Virgin getting HSPA+, or am I mistaken?

Also, I'm disappointed that a phone with specs very similar to the Triumph is the next phone released, although it does have ICS.

That's not official that is based off of what someone said... I have heard a lot of rumors like that. Some are true some aren't. And what do you expect? It is a cheap prepaid company after all. But i can almost guarantee you it will be miles better than the MT in a lot more than 1 aspect, but lacking in others (smaller screen). And HTC makes quality devices, and the fact that it has ICS is amazing.

That's my bad. I'm thinking of 4G LTE rather than 4G.

I gotcha. Either way it would be cool to see virgin mobile get 4g LTE. But we'll find out in the upcoming months.

You really think it will be that much better?I can't help but be pessimistic since the processor isn't any faster :-/

Not everything is about the processor speed, even the same clock rate can be faster on a newer generation of chips, not to mention using up less power. There are also factors like how well the kernel is optimized (for the MT's case, the stock kernel was NOT very), and plus ICS on top of everything should run more efficiently than GB too.

BTW, this article has more info specific to VM and MT's problems:

I may get it if the price is right... I can wait for the price to drop, I'm perfectly fine with my MT

Yes I do think it's that much better. I mean it may not HDMI, or a front facing camera and it does have a smaller screen, but it's made by HTC. Generally HTC devices are made to last they have amazing build quality. Also for one thing the camera on it is tons better than on the MT. Once it actually is released though, there will probably be videos comparing them and full spec sheets and all that jazz. Oh and the touchcreen knowing HTC will probably be 4+ multitouch with no axis snapping. Just because it has the same processor speed doesn't mean it is better or worse though. You have to take the whole thing into perspective.

No search button?!?! I'm out!

Your loss. You could always get it assigned to a different key, if ICS even still uses the search key at all anyways.

no hdmi? thats a little disappointing... but in all actuality I have never used mine on my MT.. I do like having the convenience of having the ability to use it.. but I would probably just use my MT as a dumby terminal, I would probably also use my MT as a mini tablet haha and run it off the wifi at home

Well it might have MHL which is HDMI through the usb port using an adapter. I mean there really isn't much information on it right now...

well if this is true, there will be no official update of the triumph :( . the specs fir the One V are the same as triumph yet it has ICS, which means it will just :replace" triumphs spot on the phone totem pole...THANK GOD FOR THE ROM COMMUNITY~~!

Kinda like how the Slider and Wildfire S replaced the OV. That's the way VM works.

According to Phone Scoop, we are getting the One V

Here are the specs straight from HTC:
HTC One V Product Overview - HTC Smartphones

(Phone Scoop said that the HTC Rep mentioned it was dual core, but HTC lets you know if it is under "CPU Speed" so my guess is that it is a single core 1ghz)

The color of that think is just terrible. Either make it black, white or silver, but please do not release phones in a turd brown/tan color.

Other than that, this looks like a major upgrade for VM's lineup. It is not a high-end phone, but it does have Android 4.0 ICS, which none of the existing phones will have on VM.

Thats true, I didn't think about it that way before. It would be nice to not have to worry about needing a custom ROM for it to work properly.

Coming from the EVO 4G to the Triumph I must say that I do miss Sense a lot.

The music player, camera, lock screen, and flip clock were all so pretty.

And knowing HTC, they wont release the phone with Janky hardware like Motorola.

I also kind of like the fact that the V looks similar to the old international Hero.

the non-removable battery doesnt bother me because i always hate it when i accedentally drop my phone and the battery comes out

So tell me, when the battery in that phone no longer holds a charge and it's time for a new one, you have no issue with being without your phone for for 2 weeks or more, paying for the shipping, and possibly paying a fee for the new battery and the work?

My Sonos hand held remote is just like that (I have one of the older models). I had no idea when I bought it that I could not replace the battery myself because it simply just did not occur to me. They charge a rather exorbitant fee for the work and the battery itself... so much so that Id rather just purchase a new controller. I probably should of purchased a Squeezebox instead.

At any rate, I'll never make that mistake again. If I cannot replace the battery myself then the item simply is not worth it.

I don't think I'd have this phone long enough to worry about that... I change phones too much, I had 3 phones from August of 2010 and July 2011 alone. I stopped once I got to the Triumph.. Sure the release on phones isn't quite what it was when they were first getting Android to start, but it seems steady enough to say at least one a year.

Though I do like having a removable battery to quick power off the phone.. and to power cycle the phone.. which just so happens to be VM answer to fix almost any error with your phone

I know there's a thread around discussing the possibilities of new VM phones, but I thought I'd give a heads up here for anyone who might be dissatisfied with the Triumph. Virgin Mobile is supposed to be getting a new phone that was announced at MWC -- the HTC One V. 1 GHz single core processor, 512 MB RAM, 4 GB internal storage, 3.7" screen, HTC's new camera sensor (supposed to be really good), Beats audio, and ICS with Sense 4.0. Check out the link for full specs and hands-on: http://www.slashgear.com/htc-one-v-heading-to-metro-pcs-virgin-mobile-and-us-cellular-27215747/

My 2 cents: I've had very few problems with my MT, so this really isn't enough of an upgrade for me to consider it, assuming I'm still with VM when it's released. But this looks like it could be the decent midrange device people were expecting when the MT came out. (Though by now, this is more like a low-end device, but should be plenty sufficient for the average VM consumer.)

...4GB of storage and no micro SD slot? To hell with that. (I have about 6GB of music and my triumph is my MP3 player. Google Music is no option for me because I often go on vacation to a place without Sprint 3G or broadband.)

It has a microSD card in addition to 4 GB builtin, what bothers me is the battery isn't replaceable (makes hard resetting phone & developing on it tough). It looks promising if it has higher quality and lower price than MT.

Hmm all I'd read about the One series says none of them has a micro sd card slot. If the v does... I'll still probably skip it for the same reason I skipped the wildfire s...- I had the optimus v with cm7 then and considered it just a sidegrade

Lets see what happens if it does go to virgin mobile usa and lets also see what virgin mobile usa has in store for us i know this isnt all they have up there sleeve.
