HTC One

I was thinking about getting the One, but it's not going to get a lot of developer support if no one buys it.

I went online and chatted with a Verizon rep, and asked if they had a firm release date for the One. Response? No date.

I like Verizon but I still have a bitter taste in my mouth waiting almost a full year for ICS on my rezound. Now the big push of moto phones. I'm testing att service. Got the htc 1 for $150 and my plan is the same price. I'll lose unlimited but rarely ever went above 3gb, so we'll see how it goes. The phone rocks and data speed/coverage seems comparable in my home area.

Yeah, but the Sept 5 date is an old leak from the first promo picture. Other leaks have had it earlier than that (including missed dates)

All they need to do is give the friggin release date. I don't know why they keep leading people on.

Amen! At this point, the HTC One is becoming old technology. I don't want to commit to 2 year contract on a phone that's already 8 months into it's life cycle.

Yeah, a rep on their LiveChat (before it went down) told me that they don't have a date, this date isn't true, and to go sign up on the page.

But then, what do the reps know? I'd just like to see the phone on their website for pre-order.

My current phone pretty much has to stay plugged in and overheats badly. The bluetooth has quit. I can upgrade with discount in 08/29/13. They apparently won't forego the week.

I've been waiting for this phone for months. I was absolutely sure I was going to get it. Now, with the new Moto choices - the X and the Droid Maxx - I'm not so sure. Some of the recent Moto Droids, like the Razr Maxx HD, had almost everything I wanted: great build quality, strong radios, good battery life, near stock UI, but they have always had crappy cameras. Could not accept that, as I prefer to rely in my phone camera in most situations. I have a DSLR, but only carry it sometimes. So now, I will be choosing between the One, Droid Maxx, and Moto X.

Can't wait to hear comparisons from users who have tried them all!

I need the best possible radios (often in weak signal areas), a great camera (at least as good as the iPhone 5), lag-free operation, and excellent battery life. Storage space, sound quality, and display specs are less important to me.

Thoughts?

Well, I'm taking off work Thursday afternoon to go get One, assuming that it actually is available this Thursday!!

So, will know soon enough, specs, call quality, etc...

2 more sleeps. 2 more sleeps. 2 more sleeps.

I really hope they'll have it at store open, because that's what I've cleared my schedule for.
