Help HTC password

I inherited an HTC rezound after my father passed away. I was unable to learn the password before he passed. Is there anyway to reset the password or the phone itself so it can be used.

You will need to factory default the phone.

1) Power off and remove the battery
2) Reinsert the battery and power up holding PWR+VOL DN until the menu appears
3) Arrow down (with VOL key) to factory reset and press PWR
4) Follow prompts and wait

The phone will come up and start walking you through the initial setup process.

aaaaand you probably just gave someone who stole a ReZound the way to reset it for his own personal use.

Likelihood of his story being true is slim to none I would guess
