htc profile widget for sound, vib, silent

lol i know i was in a IT meeting and got bored so looked for more widgets and found this. I hated always going to the Settings to go from sound to vib and back. I tried 3rd party apps in the market but never worked as solid as going through this widget. =)
 
i dont seem to be able to download this widget, or any others for that matter. when i go into the get more widgets place and select one to download, the widget downloads, but doesnt install. in the notification bar, it says download complete, but it wont install. can anyone upload the profile widget apk here so that i can download it? thanks a lot!

I could be misunderstanding you, but you need to find an open place on one of the homescreens to pu that widget. They do not "open" like a typical app.

yes i know that. i found an empty space on the home screen and did all the other stuff too. however, the widget downloads, but doesnt install

Once you download it you have to go back to widgets and then it will be on the full list. Don't go back to More HTC Widgets.

i know that, but as i said before, the widget won't install. so if someone could post up a link to the apk, that would be greatly appreciated!
 
I dont think there is a apk unless someone can extract it? So when you click on the + then "power control" it doesnt try to place it on a open screen?
 
power control works, but the widget that i'm talking about is the profile widget that you can download from "get more htc widgets". after it downloads, nothing happens and the profile widget is nowhere to be found, either in the list, or on the home screen.

lol sorry i meant "profile" widget. So if you go back into the "get more HTC widgets do you see the "profile" widget and next to it says "installed" ?

NOw go to "add widget" look under the "Settings" I bet its in there! ;)

Unfortunately no. after I press download, it says downloading and then installing flashes for a second but disappears afterwards. When I go back onto widgets, profile cannot be found under settings, or anywhere else for that matter

it's not a market app right? allow non market apps. that may be the problem.
 
I know exactly what you are saying Kino. I am having the same problem. I downloaded the widget and it shows "installed" under the "get more HTC widgets" sub menu. However, the main list of widgets does not show it. I had previously downloaded the "notes" widget from the same list and it works fine, so I know what to expect. This, isn't working the same way, which includes trying rebooting after downloading/installing.
 
after you download and install the widget go back to the widgets page and go under settings it will be there listed as "profile". You can then place it where you want.
 
Dang! I would never have found it otherwise. Under Settings... it's a Settings widget!

Look in the main widget list for settings. Click on settings, It will be listed there.

Kino, I want to clarify, when you go back to the download more widgets does it say installed? or no?

If not try this:
From the main screen click Menu/settings/applications/manage applications
Wait for the apps to load (This can take up to a min or more)
Once loaded look for HTC Widget Download manager and click on it.
Clear data, and cache if available.

Try again.

Let me know if that helps.
 
sorry to bring this back from the dead, but I'm having the same problem as kino. Was this ever solved?

when I go to get more htc widgets everything functions normally except for the quick record widget. It is the one widget that it won't let me install

when i click it it says downloading and completes downloading, then moves to installing and then installed never shows up and the widget is not in my widget list

I can't install the quick record widget. I just got this phone yesterday (replaced my other evo) and quick record worked fine on my other evo.

Can anybody help?
