Wondering whether the DHD is affected by this, seems to be all over the tech news at present, hope they fix it soon.

I'll see if I can find the article, but one of the ones I read said it would be possible to make an exact clone of the phone based on the info leaked.

Not sure if the DHD is affected, I believe it's just newer models but you can check with the tool in the link below (what the video uses).

Wasn't sure what to think but, having read the article that you linked... "Only stock Sense firmware is affected - if you're running an AOSP-based ROM like CyanogenMod, you are safe"- I feel a little happier about it!

I hope they fix it soon... I don't want people sneakily looking in my phone and realising what a boring life I lead. As a temporary patch, I've added some diary entries showing my appointments for rock-climbing, parachute-jumping and dinner with Kirsty Wark.

that really is poor on htc behalf, hope they sort it out and the desire HD is safe from this, i looked at the CyanogenMod but dont think im ready or clever enough to do it

It only affects people on Sense 3.0 upwards. 2.1 are fine

It is to do with the HTClogger.apk and some other apk. XDA has a fix for this so if you are on custom roms with sense 3.0, head over there to get the fix.

Its not just with sense 3, there's a lot of test loggers that are still in shipped roms. htclogger.apk is just specifically one of them in the new sense 3 & 3.5 roms... its an amalgamation of 3 specific test apk's...


anyways, to anyone who's rooted, and running one of these roms which has sense 3 or 3.5 specifically, or just if you're paranoid and want to clear out things in your stock gingerbread build with 2.1..
