Help HTC Sensation problems with boot

Hi all,

I am new to this forum and, well all forums really. So firstly Hello everyone.

I am having real problems with my HTC Sensation. First I managed to drop it and crack the digitiser, which was a real shame. But as it still worked afterwards I was annoyed but okay (Had no insurance). But now for no reason it seems that the phone is on a constant reboot cycle.

I was taking a photo and the phone screen went blank. I tried a long press on the power button and this turned the phone off. But when it came back on it went to the white boot screen and the green letters HTC came up but nothing else happened.

SO I took out the battery. I tried again and same thing, but this time it keeps getting to the green letters then rebooting then getting to the letters again until I take the battery out.

I got to the factory reset menu thing by holding the down volume and power button and tried the factory reset, but this just took me back to the white screen with HTC on it. But this time in the top left there was a thin "Whiter" line slightly different from the rest of the whitre screen. still it then went back into the reboot cycle.

I tried calling the warrenty people but as i droped the phone first they say they cannot fix the problem without charging me and they can't say what is wrong or how much it will cost.

Any one got any idea what I can do at all or is it a case of sucking it up and sending it back to HTC or some other certified repair agent?

I have only had the phone since just before christmas!

Cheers

Rob

I'm assuming you haven't tried to root the phone or anything?

Try pulling the battery out for 10 secs, pull the SD card out and re-insert (may have dislodged on the drop?) and then try re-booting.

I have still had no luck. After charging fully the phone came back to life, but everytime the power gets turned off (either runs out of juice or remove the battery etc then it goes back to the reboot cycle.

I have followed another thread used that to install sdk to the computer and then used the command line and an SD card reader to update the zip file thing used to boot.

I booted into the system screen and then it used the new zip file, but so far this still has lead to the constant reboot problem.

It is getting very frustrating, especially as the only help screens I can see on similar problems seem to require prior knowledge to be able to root or otherwise. I don't have this and am not exactly the most phone savvie person. Any further help appreciated.

Cheers

Rob

If your not the most phone savvy person the I would guess you are going to have to bite the bullet and send it back for repair. Are you sure you are not covered? Some household insurances may cover it.
