Help HTC Sensation suffers from death grip??

Well that video is much more worrying for the phone's prospects, although I still have to say, they were holding it at some weird angles. Also interesting how there's versions with no issues, and some with many more, although this is somewhat subjective.

OK. I have a DHD and thought I'd check this out, even though I've had no problems with wifi. I used 'wifi Analyzer' from the market to check the signal. Had it set to 'Signal meter'. Played about with holding the phone in different ways and found that if I touch the phone (in portrait mode) on the top, left-hand edge (just above the volume rocker) then the signal decreases by about 10dBm (according to the Wifi Analyzer scale).

All well and good but I have never had a problem whilst using it. In future though, if I have a weak signal, then I'll know where not to hold the phone. I suggest that all Sensation owners do likewise. It certainly doesn't put me off upgrading to one in the next few weeks.

The vast majority of "normal" users wont even notice.
I very much doubt this issue will been seen in the media (outside of the tech sphere).

It didnt hurt the iphone, and i doubt htc will be phased.

Some of you can say what you want , but it doesn't matter how i hold the phone the wifi signal will simply just disconnect , or have very low signal . Its very frustrating , while my phone shows no signal my laptop is connected with full signal . This is absolutely horrible !! . I think i want to return this phone before its too late . This is TRULY a problem with the sensation. HTC wants a grip load of cash for this phone and they cant even get the wifi correct. Does the Iphones have this problem ???

The biggest issue I've noticed is from rotating the phone into landscape, but it's not a serious issue. As others have stated, every phone has this to some extent or the other. In the good old days, phone's had external antennae, and if you placed your hand near the antennae, the signal used to drop. The human body is quite good at blocking RF, especially at the low levels that the phone receives.

I hope this helps out :)
I just got my HTC sensation 5 days ago and I loved it except the problem with the WiFi, I cant say it wasn't noticeable so after looking around I found that the wifi performance can be boosted by going to settings>wireless and networks>wifi settings> then clicking the list button then going to advanced then mark Best Wifi performance

I'm a defector from the fruity phone and so far no problems. I remember reading somewhere that the whole back of the phone makes up the antennae (you can see the connections), and when the phone is laid on its back it loses wi-fi signal. But like i said i haven't had any major issues.

Update:
I recently downloaded the gun bros app and found that while playing i would lose wi-fi signal. I realised that it was because i was holding it in landscape and one of my fingers was around by the power button. I guess wi-fi death grip exsists. Just have to be careful how i hold it now.

Had mine for a couple of weeks and not had a problem with connectivity. I agree with posters who say that shielding can happen on all phones if you cover the antenna.
No issue for me.

I have here my pg58130 aka HTC Sensation...
Im haveing big network troubles. With my wildfire i had 4bars all the time in my house and full strainght outside. The Sensation is realy killing me here with the signal. The signal is turning off every few seconds if im close to my phone... However if i hold it in my palm i have no signal. Wifi and BT are working better as espected of the deathgrip isshue, just my signal straight is realy dooing BIG problems. Once im in the city and the signal is soposed to be 100% the signal on the phone is jumping from 4bars to 2 and back to 4...
I bought a casing for it to have no fisical contact with me but the error is still here.
If there will be no soluttions for this ill try to make a new antenna and see what will happen...

The phone reception problem is resolved. I found a way how to fix this problem with no metalic foil or any antenna creation. My Sensation is now working WAY better than all previous phones did and im telling you how to do this once i do the full test. Now i made 1 call and its working. Ill post what happens in 24hrs and if it will still work fine ill let you know how i did it.
if you will have any questions im availible on:
velikonja.tilen@gmail.com or tivenx on skype.

See you in 24hrs

My phone now works with 99dBm

Before was 60 - 80 falling to 20 - 40 falling to no network and comeing back to 80 or a bit more... Now the signal sraight is 80 - 130 some moments even more. So far so great.
