Help HTC Sense automatic vibrate mode

I saw in a review before I bought the phone that if the proximity sensor detects it's in a pocket or bag it automatically switches on vibrate mode (and possibly raises the volume.)

I can't see anything else about this "feature" online and can't find the original article I saw it in - and it doesn't seem to be a feature on my phone.

So was the review lying or is it in a later version of Sense?

I definitely remember reading this too, when I first got my Desire a year ago (and before the DHD etc were out). But I can't find any mention anywhere now either. Have to say I've not noticed it myself, but I generally have the ring tone turned way up anyway cos I work in a noisy environment.

Ah that would make sense (pardon the pun)
Is that the version of Sense the Desire should be getting later in the year with Gingerbread?

Nobody knows for sure but we hope so.

You could always root and install a DHD rom. They work really well on the original Desire.
