Yea I'm gonna try and port it also.
I'm gonna state one thing.
The HTC Thunderbolt is the closest device to ours.
If someone ports it from a from that isn't cm7 then we are all gonna be happy.

Stumbled upon that same guide a week ago. From the looks of things, we will need a cm7 rom or someone with enough sense of building a rom to be able to mash codes together. The only issue with that guide, is that the tutorial linked in that thread claims the sense apk will not be very usable. The original porter was an optimus V dev. You would be better off talking to the dev than attempting this tutorial.

guys, be extremely careful!!! there is a huuge risk when flashing different framework & system files that are not for our device, even the build.prop if it says something wrong can seriously F your S* up lol not saying dont try, but just be super careful! look at more than just that 1 guide before commiting lol there's always something. but good luck!!!Yup just showin u guys but good luck with portin in we never kno it might turn out succesful

wait, how the hell do we get to fastboot? lol i know we have it but i never ventured to that area because i know our's isn't 'un-locked'Just FYI if you ever end up with a bunch of little white letters on your screen, dont freak to bad and welcome to Fastboot
which is laaaame, fastboot cmd's are THE ABSOLUTE best way for flashing .img files and for a good system/device cleaning!!back in the g1 days we had to do a LOOOOT of modifications to more than just the system folder in order to get sense roms and anything above 2.2 lol
so with that being said there was the occasional F* up lol and wiping in recovery did absolutely nothing for fixing issues, but we had the option to boot up in out unlocked bootloader/fastboot mode and run cmd 'fastboot erase system w-' which basically cleaned the device out the best way, then flash your rom and boom! haha
on a side note: that is the ONLY reason im glad we:
a. have a large enough system/memory to flash the latest & greatest without setting up crazy apps2sd things etc...
b. dont have many different system/framework types of roms..
i know we are all suuuper excited to see if we can get the CM's ported over, but as soon as we do i want you all to know that they will be a complete diff set-up then the stock modified/custom roms we have for our device now

Well me and PG figured it out back when our CWR had that reboot issue. We both, dont know if anyone else did tho, got into fastboot by breaking the boot.img. It rebooted right in the middle of flashing a rom or kernel and when it rebooted it sent us into fastboot. I tried finding key combos and all that to get into fastboot but could never get into it any other way then breaking the boot.img

happen to me also back when i brick the H* out of my phone, lmao try holding the vol up while plugging the usb cable in or try the vol down while plugging cable in usb.
