Help HTC Sense Weather Animation -- Turn Off?

Is there anyway to turn off the HTC Sense Weather animations? I like the widget, but I don't need it to animate windshield wipers to let me know it's pouring outside. I can see and hear that for myself. The cloud effects also clash badly with my background.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance!

When I add the HTC Clock (weather) widget, it first ask me what city followed by a selection on if I want it to 'Show full screen animation'. So, I imagine removing and re-adding the widget would be in order to change this setting.

The animation only lasts about 4 seconds, doesn't it?

it'll actually stop as soon as you hit the screen. So if you unlock the phone, and swipe screens, you won't even see it

DaWeav's tip is working fine. no need for those work arounds. simply re-adding the widget lets you turn it off.

Incidentally, i want to know how to 'always enable' the animations!

The animations happen when you unlock the screen but don't touch it, and that too if you were on the home screen before locking / unlocking.

I would like to know if its possible that the animations occur if the screen is left idle, much like screen savers?

any help would be appreciated

not that i know of! but turning the screen off and on again will show it off again, of course.

I saw the lightning storm one. that was kind of cool. but it still gets in the way of a clean and efficient userspace, so i'm leaving animations off.

Thank you for the fix! I installed the update from HTC's site and when i bring the device from lock, if the clouds roll across the screen, it kinda freezes. Now if I can find a way to fix the phone part of the device so that it is not freezing ALL THE TIME! ugh

Thanks, and Cheers!

Since this topic comes first in Google, I'll give better solution then removing & re-adding widget.

At least in Sense 3.0, you can:

  1. Tap and hold on widget
  2. Wait until "Edit" & "Remove" appears (for me it's bottom of screen)
  3. Drag to Edit
  4. Choose location and next screen is to disable animation.
