Help HTC Sense

Hey everyone, I am currently having some issues with my phone.

I've noticed that my weather widget was working funny, and every time I've tried to refresh it, HTC Sense would crash and allow me only to Force Close it. Thought it was working just fine this morning.

So I went ahead and cleared the HTC Sense data and now i cannot find any of my widgets such as the big clock with the weather display, My favorites displays or even the bookmark displays on my home pages.

Is there any way to retrieve the widgets? or only by hard reset it to factory settings again? will I loose all my contacts and messages?

Please help!

Thanks a lot! :)

Thanks, I've tried that, but I cannot find them anywhere. Before when I would add a widget to the home page, it would give me the styles and designs I've wanted. For example, the analog clock is only available.

They used to be at the shortcut section or at the Android Widget section, but now they are gone...

are you sure you didn't accidentally change your default launcher to "home" rather than "sense"? do you have the arrow, phone, and + key at the bottom of your screen or just a grey box with an arrow?

I don't think so, I do have the arrow, phone and plus keys at the bottom...

I've looked everywhere and I cannot find the default Android Widgets that came with the phone...

hmm this is rather peculiar, I mean regardless of what data you clear all of the widgets should be available to you because they're built into the phone and the only way to get rid of them is rooting. So you're saying that when you go to add a widget none of the HTC sense ones are there? Have your tried a simple battery pull? Also, was your old home screen set-up saved as a "scene" if thats the case you can simply reload that from menu->scenes->then whatever you named it

True, it's really weird...I go to add a widget for the home screen, and they are usually at the "Android Widget" section, but there are not there...I've just cleared the HTC Sense data and next thing I know, is that most of the default widgets are gone (Clock + weather, weather, My Favorites, Bookmarks)
The old home screen was saved, but nothing....not even the default scenes that include some of the widgets, do show them...
BTW I have a Droid Eris...

Really? Well if I were you I would just go to the good ol VZW store and see what they say, I'd give you my full input but I can't physically see what's going on so I don't want to tell you to do a factory reset when it's not completely necessary. Sorry my man.

Thanks for all your help men! I really appreciate it!

I've read from other threads doing a factory reset as well, for some other people just a simple battery pull worked :(

Anyway, thanks for your help!

THEY ARE BACK! I cleared the data again, and they came back! don't know what happened but they are back.

Again, THANKS FOR YOUR TIME AND HELP MEN! :)

Alright cool! Just so you know in the event that you have to perform a factory, reset as long as you saved all of your contacts as "google" rather than "phone" they are already backed up via gmail. There are certain apps that backup messages but I cant seem to remember their names.
A quick way to double check to make sure your contacts are backed up to your gmail is go to your gmail account on the computer and look under contacts, you should see them all there
