Can anyone try rooting on the latest update using HTC super tool?(search for it in Google) there's a method other than zerg method on there, I would try but don't want to wipe my data by unlocking the bootloader without knowing for sure it works

Yep that's the one

sorry... taco root did not work on 2.11.605.9 :( best bet is to roll back and root with revolutionary.

if you have an older phone,or a used phone with no mfg warranty, then just unlock with htcdev, install a recovery, root, then make a backup. if htcdev is good enuff for ya,you could just leave it at that. i personally would flash a 2.11.605.5 rom,or roll back using an RUU to root with revolutionary and get s-off. after youve s-offed,you can restore your backup :)

i still have a warranty, but i do have best buys insurance also, do you think it will violate the terms? Also, if i do decide to roll back, is there any way i can keep all my app data safe? and thanks for the help :D

no idea on the terms. if you modify it and they can tell,it will likely require you to pay the deductable, even if something breaks that wasnt your fault.

at this time, there is no way to keep your app data safe. there are no temp root(that would allow you to use titanium backup) exploits that i know of working on 2.11.605.9 :(

actually, even htcdev will not keep it safe either. after you unlock the bootloader,it will do a factory reset,so if you have to pick one or the other, revolutionary is the better way to go.

Ok thanks, I wonder if the
"Desense" option works well on HTC super tool
