Help HTC sync 2.0.40 and Android 2.2

Since updating to Android v2.2 I have been unable to sync using HTC sync v2.0.40. I use this to sync with my Lotus Notes Calendar. The phone is recognised and sync starts but then hangs and fails to sync. HTC sync v3 will sync but is not compatible with Lotus Notes calendar.

Anyone else come across this with a fix?

Only thing i can suggest is to try a different usb port or maybe uninstall htc sync & try reinstalling it again.
