HTC Sync causes "blinking curser"

I recently started noticing that my mouse curser in Windows XP was blinking the "working in the background" symbol every 5 seconds, which would interrupt my typing. After getting no help from Googling it, I finaly realized that it started after installing HTC Sync last week (the version from the SD card on the Hero..haven't tried the new version from the Sprint website). Exiting the program wasn't enough to stop this, I had to reboot the computer. Just thought I would share in case others were finding this strange behavior. Maybe I have saved you all some troubleshooting time.

Yeah, that sure is annoying isn't it? Mine did the same thing with the newest Sync on Vista. Reboot didn't stop it for me either. Uninstalled Sync (I'll never use it). Problem solved for me.
