HTC Sync crashes Windows Explorer

I can install and run HTC Sync on my laptop okay. I can even sync my Desire no problem. Trouble is, while I have HTC Sync on my laptop, Windows Explorer will not work. It shuts down and then tries unsuccessfully to restart. Doing a system restore to remove HTC Sync cures the problem. Anyone else having these problems? Any ideas how to fix it. I am running Windows 7 (32 bit).

SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker - Windows 7 Forums

I had the same problem with WINDOWS EXPLORER closing down when i bought this pc i'm running now, so i did a SFC/SCANNOW command-system file checker, i had to carry out the scannow 3 times before it was sorted.
I have not had anymore problems regarding windows explorer shutting down.
