Help HTC Sync Manager-device unavailable, reconnect phone (4)

I had this issue too on Lollipop with an HTC One M8. Issue was resolved by going into the HTC Sync Manager Folder on my desktop and locating the AndroidHtcSync.apk files (there were 5 of them) and copying them to the root of my HTC One M8. From there, I opened the file manager on my phone and clicked on all of the apk files and installed them all (not all of them installed). Restarted phone and it was recognized after that.

Thanks!! Good work, tfox39!

Thank you so very much and to the poster who asked where the phone's root is and the poster who explained. I've been on the Phone to HTC for TWO HOURS and they couldn't sort this problem out. They said they've escalated my problem and would call me back in TWO DAYS TIME to let me know how they're getting on with solving it but thanks to tfox39, this is now resolved and my phone has now connected to sync manager.

HTC really need to get the recognition/compatibility issues resolved before their customers start to desert them in droves. Very frustrating!

Sorry, I spoke too soon. At first I couldn't connect at all so I copied the .apk into the M8 root and installed it. It connected to to Sync manager which said it was reading the phone's data and that's when I posted my previous post saying it was all sorted.

But then I noticed the phone lost its connection so I restarted the process, connected to sync manager which started to read the phones data and then it lost its connection again and gave me this error message:

HTC Sync Manager-device unavailable, reconnect phone (4)

Anyone have any further solutions?

I upgraded my M8 from KitKat to Lollipop when this problem popped up. And tfox39's solution resolved my problem with SYNC manager.

Thanks

I copy files back & forth between my HTC 10 and my Windows laptop using an app called WifiDroid. The app goes on your phone and works with your Internet Browser on your computer. It's easy to use and support is helpful too. Give it a try.
