HTC sync only working one way!?!?!

I've just tried sync'ing my HTC Desire with my work calendar on Outlook and it doesnt seem to be working properly!?!?

If I add an appointment in Outlook and sync, it works fine and shows up on my phone calendar, but if I add an appointment on my phone and sync, it doesnt import it into my Outlook calendar!?!?!?

I'm sure it always used to work - I've been using the same setup for a few months!

Anyone got any ideas??

I've got it set to "PC Sync" when I save an appointment on my phone and in the past its always just saved both ways!?!? :confused:

Not sure which calendar I'm using - I think its the one that comes with Launcher Pro - is there a setting somewhere that controls the sync?

PC Sync is the correct one to choose.

You using the launcher pro widget? I dont use that myself but tested and cant see any settings to set the calendar defaults.

Could you test it going into the HTC / Android calendar application directly?
 
I cant see another calendar on the phone - there is one just called "calendar" in the widget list but it seems to be the same one as the LP one!?!? :confused:

Which do you use?? I've downloaded Jorte which I've read is pretty good but I cant seem to get my Outlook appointments across to it since I've not selected Google Calendar - do I have to do this to get it to work??

I have used Jorte. I dont sync with outlook myself, but Im talking about the calendar in the app drawer, as opposed to the widgets.
 
I'm still experimenting with Jorte but I'm sure I've missed ticking an option somewhere - I've managed to get my appointments to show up in Jorte (which I quite like the look of!) but if I add an appointment on the phone and sync using the HTC Sync software - it doesnt transfer to my calendar in Outlook!?!?! :confused:

Not tried the calendar in the app drawer but since its doing the exact same thing with the two I have tried, I'm assuming its not the calendar!

Yes but by removing the widgets from the equasion, you are removing an added layer of application that could be going wrong. At least it would be narrowing it down and making troubleshooting easier.
 
Fair point!

Just tried that calendar with a test appointment and sync'd - nothing has shown up on the outlook calendar! :mad:

How does the sync actually work?? Is it somehow linked to google calendar?

Thanks for all the continued help on this!!!!

I ended up e-mailing HTC and they told me to uninstall HTC sync, re-download the latest version (3.0.551), soft-reset my phone (take the battery out while its turned on!) and re-try!

It did the trick for me!!! :D

Hope this helps people with a similar problem!

Excellent news! Now unfortunately, you have no excuse to miss those appointments you entered on your phone whilst drunk in a pub ;)
 
** UPDATE **

Well it fixed my problem, for all of 5 minutes!!! :mad:

It would appear that if I follow the steps above fully, the sync starts working - FOR THE FIRST TIME ONLY!!!! And any subsequent sync's - it goes back to not working!?!?!?!? :confused:

Essentially I have to soft-reset my phone AND reinstall the HTC Sync software to properly sync my phone!!!

Help.......
