Help HTC Thunderbolt going to HBOOT screen. Help?

This has happened yesterday and today, whenever I power it on it goes to the HBOOT screen and says things like fast boost, recovery, restore factory settings, etc. I click power it down and turn it on again and it works fine, but is there something wrong/corrupted with my phone? I have not tried to hack it or anything in anyway.

Ur not pushing on your volume down button by chance as your pressing power are you? if not then sumthn maybe wrong, or your volume down button is sticking not sure...

just had this happen to me only I didn't power down, did the scroll down with the volume control to go to power off (I think) the second one down in the list of options. now all I have is the icon of the phone w/ a red triangle/exlamation mark on it and the phone isn't responding @ all.

now what?

update: Just took it to the Verizon store, they removed the battery and all's well. I think it was just a really dead battery that was still charging when I tried turning it on while plugged in to charge.

The 2nd one down would be recovery, which is what the phone did... It booted into recovery. If that every happens again just pull the battery like the VZW rep did.

You are holding the power button down for too long. This happens to me when doing a cold boot sometimes. It's easier to turn the phone on from completely off if the phone is plugged in to the charger. That way you can use the charge LED as an indicator as to when to let go of the power button because it blinks off when the phone responds to the button press.
