Help HTC Thunderbolt "paired but not connected" error

PhillyJam

Lurker
With my new 3/17/2011 HTC Thunderbolt, each time I enter the vehicle there is a "paired but not connected" condition in the Bluetooth function on the phone. I must go in the function and literally press the "connect" button in order to get the audio system to connect to the phone.

Same vehicle worked fine with my older phone.

Any suggestions to fix?

Just registered because I saw this post, have been reading for a while.

I just got the thunderbolt today and I am having the same issues. The same car had no issues with my last phone.....

Same problem here, 2011 Audi Q5.

I can get it to pair with my computer but not connect, despite tapping on the "connect". I run a Mac but I wouldn't think that should be a problem.

That's what mine said when it was searching for my car before I authenticated it. Try repairing it to your car, I bet it would fix it.

I hate to say it, but from what I've read and experienced with my Acura so far, it seems this phone has the same issue and the Inc (and some other HTC phones) with the Bluetooth. YMMV. I tried all sorts with my Inc, to no avail, finally rooted and went to Cyanogen and it was perfect. Hopefully either it's not as bad with the Thunderbolt or HTC will finally fix the issue.
