Root HTC Thunderbolt Root

Yeah hoping I don't have to go to long with 2.2 once I get the Thunderbolt. I went back to a 2.2 rom after being on CM7 and it just doesn't do it for me .

Are we 100% not getting GB? No surprises? If not, I give it a week for the devs to pull this baby apart.
4G unlimited looks like it's a go for me too. I'm thinking of ordering online and getting it on Friday instead of Thursday unless they do an "Incredible" on us and allow ordering today or tomorrow.

It is releasing on Thursday 17th of March, and the phone in the picture that has been rooted was a test phone. However the root method should be the same for the production ones.

LOL!!! The reps at the VZW corp. store I go to all have rooted phones. While I was waiting for the TB to come out I was asking about the Samsung (Facinate?) and the rep was saying how bad the OS updates for it are and how it is infested with Bing. He then leaned in and said, "But if you root it like I did it is an awesome phone, and you don't have to worry about the updates." Made me laugh.

Showed him my OG Droid with CM 7 on it and talked a bit about how all the reps he works with root and rom. He said they don't really care if you bring in a phone with a problem that has been rooted, as long as you don't try to lie about it. There isn't much they can do warantee wise but they will work with you to do what they can.

Word. Not rooting the phone doesn't make sense. Although I do think I'm just going to root and run stock for a while to really see how Sense 2.0 is.

Does CM build Sense back into the ROM or is there some way to get it if I happen to like Sense 2.0?
 
No. You need a different rom. But... what is it about sense that you want/like that you can't get on CM? (answer later.. off to BB to harass them into giving me the phone today) Fat chance.

I have no idea yet. I've never used a phone with Sense before, so I'm not sure if I'm going to like it or not. I did like CM a lot when I used it on the OG Droid and knowing that they'll provide updates for my phone faster than HTC/VZW also makes it an attractive option. I would just hate to get used to Sense, like it, then be forced to pick between Sense and CM.

I go back and forth because I really do like Sense but CM especially CM7 is just too damn good . I usually only stick with sense for a few days then I'm back on to CM7.... The things I miss from Sense dont' out weigh the things I miss from CM7

Mainly with sense the way it integrates Facebook is flawless especially on Z roms
 
good thing my auction for my env touch ends on friday, as well as i should get paid thursday night. There might be some thunder coming my way this weekend, depending on data prices. if its 30$ unlimited i will highly contemplate a two year contract for this bad boy, seeing as the inc is still a top phone for devs, and nothing has really knocked it off its pedastool yet.
 
i gotta tell ya. Seeing names like Jamezelle and Jcase is rushing back memories of my eris days! Glad to see you guys still hackin away!
