Root HTC Vivid rooting

I had a Motorola flipside that I had rooted. Screen died so now I just got an at&t htc vivid which I would also like to root. I don't remember the specifics of how U rooted my flipside way back when might have been the z4 root program. I have done some searching online and can not find much info on rooting this vivid or what methods have been successful. anyone have any known successful methods?

For rooting, I recommend the All-In-One Tookit
[TOOL] HTC Vivid All-In-One Toolkit V2.2 [6-7-2012] [PERM ROOT] [Noob-Proof] - xda-developers

I was going to tell you to check Settings, Security for the allow other markets, but I checked and it is not there on ICS. Check your settings, may be different on your phone. That is where it is under Gingerbread, haven't located it yet on ICS.
