Hi,
To cut a long story short - I had a problem with the volume down key, search key and the centre trackpad key on my HTC desire.
So I sent the phone back to HTC around the 8th Dec 2011, in the last month it was sent back 3 times and returned to me with exactly the same fault. Anyway the 4th time I have sent it back they have returned the phone to me saying that it is because of water damage. They have sent me a photo of the damage (image0 | Flickr - Photo Sharing!) and it appears to be some connections on a ribbon. (You'd think that after taking the phone apart to find this out they could have just repaired the damn thing).
Anyway the phone has been returned to me and it is still faulty. Which I am a little miffed about as I am very careful with my phones and the water exposure was me having slightly damp hands (I had dried them) after washing up and that just consisted of me picking up the phone and pressing a few keys - hardly exposure to water!
Can anyone tell me is this an easy repair? Could i try contact cleaner?
Any advice would be fantastic.
Thank you
Richard
