Help HTC Weather not working

Kaiote

PLEASE HELP!

I have searched everywhere. This site only has threads related to this problem for other phones, not the Incredible 2.

As of two days ago, my phone was working like a charm. Now, the weather portion of the HTC sense clock/weather widget is not working. It just shows "Current Location" where it used to say my location by name.

When I try to update the weather information, by tapping on the weather section on the home page, it gives me this message "unable to contact location service to update current location". Also tells me "You need a network connection to use this application. Please turn on mobile network or Wi-Fi in settings."

My mobile network is on.

Please tell me how to get this working right again!

Thank you!

Yes, 3G is on and I am receiving email and text message alerts. I am also able to surf on the internet and both Amazon Apps and Android Market load.

I removed the widget from my home page. Re-added the widget. Still no luck on my current location (Helper) displaying. It still only displays "Current Location" and I still get the previous message of "Unable to contact the location service...".

This is very frustrating as in my settings menu, it clearly states that my mobile network is on (and I am able to use it with other applications and programs) and my GPS location service is on.

I am certainly willing to try any other suggestions! I am even seriously considering rooting this thing (and that process scares the heck out of me! LOL). Anything to make it work the way I want and it is supposed to!

Last thing I can think of is checking to make sure your background data is enabled. settings> accounts & sync

Then unless you're really wanting to root, my final idea is a factory reset.
