Root htc wildfire s cant root, need help !!!

I'm trying to root my phone and I used the [Guide] How to root the Wildfire S with S-ON (finally!) forum

anyways, i got all the way down to ...this part:

4B. Download root.zip and put it on your SD card.

4C. Flash root.zip
Boot into HBOOT and go into Recovery. Then select install zip from sd card and choose zip from sd card. Then find the root.zip file downloaded above and install it.

4D. Go back to the main menu and reboot the phone.

4E. Verify that the SuperUser app is installed and go to Google Play market to update it. If the SuperUser app is not installed, download SuperSU from Google Play store. Either way, reboot the phone.

4F. Verify that the phone is rooted
by installing any app that requires root and opening it. Some good apps that require root are Link2SD, Titanium Backup, ES File Explorer (enable rooted exploring under settings) and Root Explorer.

I put the root.zip file on my sdcard and it shows up on my sd card in the file explorer, but when I do step 4c, it doesn't work...i don't understand what i did wrong, can someone please help??

Are you saying it shows up with a file explorer but does not show up when browsing from within clockwork recovery while attempting to flash it? Or are you saying that you find the file while in recovery but flashing it does not give you the superuser app?

Also, this thread has been moved to the Wildfire S root forum. :)

Just copy the 'root.zip' on the root of the SD card (not inside any folder), Then can definitely able to see it when selected 'chose zip from SDCard ' option on recovery menu.

Do you mean, can't root the device after selecting 'root.zip' file or not able to the find the file on recovery menu...?
