Root HTC Wildfire S will not root.

Lurker
Hi there,

I am trying to root my HTC wildfire s but am having some troubles.

I am following this guide here:

http://androidforums.com/wildfire-s-all-things-root/480954-guide-how-root-wildfire-s-s-finally.html

I've managed to unlock my bootloader and follow all the steps. I get to the part when you root it, I use the HTC SuperTool v3, follow the steps and a flashing bit that says "ROOTED" and i reboot. I download the SuperSu app and when I run it is says "There is no SU binary installed, and SuperSu cannot install it. This is a problem"

What's the problem? I follow all the instructions but no luck.

Something I did notice is that the model they are reffereing to is a 510e while mine is a 510b?

Any help would be hugely appreciated,

Thanks.

Hsm1, welcome aboard Android Forums :hello:

Take a look at the mini procedure just above step 5 for phones that won't root with the SuperTool. It's more manual and outdated, but it will get the job done. Go ahead and post right in the thread for the guide if you run into trouble. A lot if capable guys are there to help you out.

Cheers!

Did the procedure that you guys suggested and worked great.

My first rooting experience was a pleasant one.

Thanks.
